Happy Thursday! With the weekend almost here, Julie and I wanted to talk about a few of our latest reads that you may want to check out. Now that we aren't having to read for class, it is fun to be able to pick out books that are easy or entertaining reads. Also, believe it or not, we've even been reading for professional development. Must be a sign of age, right? Take a look at the latest books we've had our noses in. Did we leave one out? Share with us your latest reads, we'd love to check them out!
- Start With Why by Simon Sinek - My work colleagues recommended this book to me and we all have sort of bought into the ideology. Its a great book for anyone seeking to strengthen their leadership skills by encouraging them to start with why.
- Engage: The Complete Guide for Brands and Businesses to Build, Cultivate, and Measure Success in the New Web by Brian Solis - In my new social media role with Knight Eady, I am always seeking new, creative ways to navigate and use the tools of new media. Social media for business is a bit different from how we use it for our personal profiles. With these platforms always evolving and changing it is good to stay on top of the latest trends. This book serves as a great resource for the mix of social media and business.
- Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer - Okay, this one is a bit older, but if you haven't read it.... YOU NEED TO. We recognized the 13th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States last month. This book is a unique account of a young boy's experiences with the attacks and the loss of his father. Great read!
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - Yes, yes, I know this book has been out for awhile now too, but the movie comes out tomorrow. If you haven't read it you need to download it TONIGHT. It is an quick, easy read that you will literally not be able to pull away from. Read it before you see the movie!
